All solar pv systems will need maintenance, servicing and cleaning during their lifetime, this is part of the process of owning a solar pv system.
 

Solar panels do not contain any moving parts, hence, the maintenance required is typically very low. As with all manufactured materials, they do deteriorate over time due to various factors, including weather influences. All components should be checked, in some cases, it might actually be more efficient to replace old and relatively inefficient components like inverters, with more modern and efficient components as this may improve your electricity generation.

You should check your solar pv system on a regular basis, taking notes of electricity generation and weather conditions is a great idea. This will allow you to spot anomalies in the data and determine if there is a fault with your system. A deterioration in electricity being generated in a consistent weather pattern will be an indication that there is a fault with your system.
